Silk Ribbon Embroidery Hint 10 by Di van Niekerk
From a series of handy hints and tips for silk ribbon embroidery to save and keep for your collection. You are most welcome to share with your students or friends.

Stranded silk threads complement the silk ribbon beautifully. Silk thread has a lustrous sheen and enhances the designs most effectively. I like to use the beautiful Chameleon pure silks in my projects. Other silk manufacturers are Madeira, Au Ver a Soie, Kreinik, Gumnut Yarns, Gloriana, and YLI. Silk blends are available such as those from Rajmahal Art. Silks, and this is what I often use for making beautiful locks of hair. Chameleon silks are also good to embroider hair with.
