Hello stitching world!
It's a beautiful sunny day in Cape Town and I thought you would enjoy seeing these special hand-stitched labels by Annie Plum from Hoekwil on the Garden Route in South Africa.
Fig and rosemary jam... Tomato and chilli chutney, pickled chillies, tomato chutney, tomato jam.... don't they all sound delicious?
South Africa is well-known for its preserves and I love Annie's idea of making hand-stitched labels for handmade treats.

I love quilting, sewing, doll-making and embroidery, and
I like to use mixed mediums.
I use my sister Mirra’s drawings for ideas. She is a very
talented artist.
I make labels for preserving and individual notebooks as gifts.
I’m currently working on a ‘Hansel and Gretel’ piece, also
one of Mirra’s drawings...."
Don't you love her bee??
and her doll? So clever.

and don't forget the apple Jelly :)
Thank you Annie.... one day when we are in Hoekwil, I know where to find perfect gifts for family and friends.
I am starting on a new design today after we get back from tea and scones at Kirstenbosch Gardens. We will walk there at lunchtime as it's Maureen's birthday. Happy birthday Maureen!
