I was fortunate enough to meet MARI HIRAKO when she flew out to Cape Town for the advanced RES course in Silk ribbon embroidery.

I was most impressed with her total dedication to the craft, her professionalism and her quiet, gentle manner – all the qualities that make her such a good teacher and agent.
Mari has a special love for the Flower Fairies™ and she teaches all the Fairies from my Flower Fairy book, amongst others.
If you live in Japan, or are visiting Tokyo, do contact Mari. She keeps all my ribbons and the supplies for my books.

Subject: healing powersay
Dear Renn and Di,
Thank you for the kindest e-mail the other day.
I just wanted to tell you about embroidery`s healing power.
After the earthquake on March 11th, I`ve been staying home watching news and not able to do any house work or go out but doing embroidery. I spoke to many of my friends on the phone and they said same thing….cannot do anything but embroidery. Embroidery makes me calm and how can I say…. I can feel my feet on the ground.
Thank you for your support, we are doing strong more than ever.
