Nicole wrote to me:
“I am Nicole Hancock and I am 17 years old. I attend Boksburg Christian Academy and I am in my last year. Every year all the ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) schools get together in Bloemfontein for the All African Student Convention.
There are a lot of different events that can be entered: Science, Art, Sewing, Sport etc.
Under Embroidery
The entries are judged for: The pattern submitted; Creativity and Overall beauty, Technique, Uniformity of stitches, Finishing, Blocking and Submitting correct documentation.
You are awarded points for each area of evaluation by the different judges and the ones with the highest points go through to the top 10.
The top three are selected and are invited to take part in the International Student Convention held in Indiana, Pennsylvania in the USA.
We will be leaving for the International Convention on the 15 May 2012 and will be entering my Embroidery in the International Convention as well. Thanks again for a really beautiful picture.”
And the result: Nicole won 1st place for her Embroidery at the International Student Convention in the USA!
