BONGU, καλημέρα  :-))   I wish you a very HAPPY, SUCCESSFUL, PEACEFUL and CREATIVE 2013 .... may it be a good year for you and your family!   Today I have a beautiful Fuchsia tree to brighten up your weekend. I met Tatiana Jalaguzian at my workshop in Kiev and was so impressed with her outstanding talent for three-dimensional work. I enjoyed teaching Tatiana as she was so passionate about ribbon embroidery and a lovely person too.   This is what Tatiana made: Don't you just love her piece?   Tatyana from Kiev   The close-up details.... Tatyana took this photo at an angle for you to see the Fuchsias and the leaves.    2 Tatyana from Kiev     See how she made the stamens... and the moss in the little pot? So clever!   3 Tatyana from Kiev   And another close-up of the Fuchsia and leaves...   4 Tatyana from Kiev     THANK YOU, Tatiana, for sharing you awesome talent with all of us and for your inspiration ‎~ ♥ ~   SRE-Competition-Book-Cover-example   We are all busy with the competition entries and I will keep you informed as soon as the judges are ready with their decision. Do subscribe for free to be the first to see the list of the winners :)   I know many of you are waiting anxiously for the results and I will send a message on my blog as soon as I can. There are so many exquisite entries, the judging is going to take a while, but hopefully I will announce the winners before the end of January. GOOD LUCK everybody!           I wanted to show you where we were hiking last weekend. From Silvermine to the top of Muizenberg Peak which is 540 metres high. While we were sitting on the rock admiring the incredible view....       Hike-from-Silvermine-to-Muizenberg   .... we heard the shark siren go off and saw all the bathers and surfers get out of the water.     Muizenberg     THEN we saw the shark!! He was not far out.... between the third and fourth breaker and.... he was huge! He circled and circled enjoying his swim and then the bathers (who though they had waited long enough) went back in the water... and he was still there! A short distance away from a paddler. So we left because we didn't want to see a tragedy happen. Luckily he was not a hungry shark that day.... no one was injured :)   Silvermine Fynbos   This is what the fynbos vegetation in Silvermine looks like and because it was so hot, the mist started rolling in. Don't you love these photos taken by my friend, Linda Rose? Linda is a fountain of knowledge, an experienced hiker and she teaches us so much on our hikes.   I hope you will enjoy your weekend and happy stitching - even if it's  for 20 minutes a day... it is such good therapy.   Love   Di~ ♥ ~
